COFFEE | SIGNATURE BLEND
Our signature blend, Gertrude. Where it all started.
She’s so popular, the roasting demand keeps our team on the toes.
A smooth, full-flavoured coffee with caramel sweetness, a nutty centre, rich creamy body and luscious cocoa finish.
Our signature Gertrude coffee beans are our most popular product. Air roasted on bespoke, fluid-bed machines using our special Martin Street Coffee Methodology means that we let every single bean reach its full potential.
A carefully sourced blend of 100% Arabica beans from Colombia and Brazil - grown at altitudes of up to 1,800m in rich, fertile volcanic soil.
Brazilian coffee delivers a consistent flavour profile of sweet orange and lime acidity with a smooth chocolate caramel texture. While Colombian coffees are characterised as sweet, big-bodied with balanced fruitiness and notes of caramel.
The result? A delicious Medium roast, finely-balanced blend with caramel sweetness. Combining flavours of toasted nuts, a hint of dark chocolate - crisp acidity and lingering cocoa finish.
A 440g bag of beans makes around 25-28 double espresso shots, although ultimately, it's down to personal taste. Use 15-20g per double shot for at home espresso.
For pre-ground (a plunger for example) you use about a heaped teaspoon per cup.
