Saying we love coffee would be an understatement. We are obsessed with it, even using it for cooking (yeah, we know). Our holidays have always involved coffee, savouring the heady black brew worldwide. We visit roasteries, cafes, origin farms, processing plants and green coffee agents. For us, holidays are pure business bliss.

We’re fascinated by the growing, the cultivation, the art, science and mathematics of roasting beans. Always looking for intriguing coffee from far-flung places and relishing the challenge of developing the ideal roast profile.

We’ve spent what feels like an eternity learning all aspects of coffee production.

Years travelling back and forth from Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia and South America with our partners, building, testing and perfecting our machines and roasting skills.

Coffee Heaven

You see, there was one trip that changed everything. We discovered working roasteries offering a factory door coffee experience where we could learn about different brewing methods and enjoy coffee. Every overseas roastery we visited was unlike anything we’d experienced at home. They were working factories offering cellar door style settings where the public was welcome. The greetings were warm, conversation was friendly, the coffee exquisite and service incredible. We felt like family

So, we decided to dedicate our restored 1890s gold rush building to the love of coffee. Offering a working factory open coffee lovers looking to experience, explore, talk, sample and purchase our delectable offerings. With our factory and online store open to all, Martin Street Coffee Roasters was born.

We’re all about friendly, “go the extra mile” service, producing high-quality yet affordable, delicious small-batch coffee beans delivered directly to your door, anywhere in Australia.

It’s us. There are three of us behind Martin Street Coffee Roasters.

Brand queen and founder, Simon Daniel is the brains behind the concept, the bespoke equipment and the look, feel and experience of the brand (as well as a master roaster).

An obsessive roaster and quality control freak, Simon Gracie is the strategic development and financial guru; a co-owner and an operational genius.

Susie is our talented, genuine, straight-talking multitasker. Susie batch roasts and assists with all aspects of the business and if you ask her she’ll tell you: "I do everything". Martin Street customers love Susie as much as we, the Simons do. We are like family: working, socialising, disagreeing, laughing, drinking coffee and travelling together. A family-style trio since 2015, we have six dogs between us.

You’ll find us at the roastery most days. It’s a one-stop-shop for our business. You’re welcome to drop in for a friendly cellar door style coffee demonstration, sample the products, experience the sights, sounds and aromatics of a working coffee roastery, and skip out the door with a free, takeaway cuppa with all purchases.
